Re:       Amarillo TAME Competition

 The Amarillo Chapter of Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering (AC TAME), in association with Amarillo College, is proud to announce its annual Math and Science Competition, open to students in grades six through twelve. AC TAME and Amarillo College will host the 2009 local competition on Saturday, March 7, 2009. The competition will take place in the Lecture Hall on the Amarillo College West Campus. Check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. and orientation and testing will begin at 9:00 a.m. Tests should be graded and awards presented by noon or shortly thereafter.

 

Students will need to bring two #2 pencils. Additional information on the tests is attached.

 

Participating students must complete the attached Registration, Parental Permission, and Student Tracking forms by the deadline. These forms must be completed, signed, and returned Amarillo College, Mathematics & Engineering Departments, Attn: Gina Garrett, P.O. Box 447, Amarillo, TX 79178 postmarked no later than Monday, March 2, 2009, or by hand delivery to room 205 in the Engineering Building located at the corner of 22nd and Jackson on the Amarillo College Washington Street Campus no later than Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. Please note: Students will not be allowed to participate if they have not submitted each form by the deadline. Late forms will not be accepted and students will not be allowed to submit them the day of the competition.

 

Students participating in the local competition will become eligible to receive an invitation to represent AC TAME in the State Competition. The State TAME Math and Science Competition will be held on Friday and Saturday, April 17 – 18, 2009, at Lockheed-Martin in Fort Worth, Texas.
